Trudy Licano's career in real estate and construction started at age 19 as a licensed real estate agent. From there she progressed to being a marketing director for a new home builder and then eventually to being the owner of her own building company. In starting her custom home company in 1984, Via Homes, Inc., (while husband Michael was busy building his law practice) she became Arizona's first woman to be the qualifying party on a home building license. From Via Homes, Trudy launched 3 other successful companies: Insight Design, an architectural firm; NorthGate, a land and commercial development company; and Gateway Management, a commercial marketing and community management group. Seeing the need for additional hands-on ownership help, she and husband Michael Licano joined forces in 1987 and have been working together ever since. Most recently, Trudy master planned, entitled and developed Gateway Norte, the nation's first CC&R'ed Builder's Park, an exclusive multi-million dollar 100-acre community of building services located in Mesa, Arizona.
Trudy is a council-appointed member of the City of Mesa's Mayor Housing Advisory Committee and an Advisory Board Member for Change Point, for which she underwrote "English is 2nd Language" courses from 2002-04. Trudy also supports a number of charitable organizations.
As a mother of two daughters and Managing Member of four interrelated real estate and construction companies, she still manages to feed a few other passions: skiing, racquetball, and piano.
